What baby items should you keep?

What baby items are useless?

For kicks, here’s my personal top 10 list of useless baby registry items:

  • The wipe-warmer contraption. …
  • Bottle sanitizer. …
  • Newborn mittens (to prevent newborns from scratching themselves) …
  • Shoes. …
  • Baby bathrobe. …
  • Baby-food maker. …
  • A stroller “hold on” handle. …
  • Stuffed animals.

What baby should not buy in second hand?

In the interest of safety, there are a few items that you should not buy used. Breast pumps and crib mattresses especially should not be bought second-hand. Personal breast pumps are specifically designed for single-use only, and can easily be contaminated. But you can still be mindful of waste by recycling yours.

At what stage should you start buying baby stuff?

Many expecting parents prefer to wait to buy baby stuff until they find out the gender of their baby. This generally happens between 18 and 21 weeks, but some people find out as early as 12 weeks. Of course, you don’t need to know the gender of your baby to begin buying things for them.
