When should I start wearing maternity underwear?
There is no hard and fast rule as to when you must start wearing maternity underwear. Some women put up a lot of weight right from the beginning of their pregnancy. Other women start to pile on the pounds in the last half of their pregnancy.
Do you need to buy bigger underwear when pregnant?
Most women know their bodies and will have a good idea of how much weight they are gaining. I recommend my customers and pregnant friends purchase a couple of pairs of underpants 1 size bigger at the beginning of their pregnancy and then a few more pairs at about 5-6 months, 1 to 2 sizes bigger.

Look for breathable materials like cotton or microfiber. Some panties are also made with a light compression material that will give you a more sucked-in feeling (but not as much as shapewear), which women tend to either love or hate.
